In the beginning…God!

Happy new year everyone😊🎉🎊

Hope you had amazing holidays…I sure did! Had time to think and plan for the new year and I’ve been asking myself what can I do better to improve my life and my relationships? It was a time of self-examination as the Bible advises in 2 corinthians 13:5.

One thing is certain amidst the excitement of a new year we create these expectations that the new year will change our lives but is it true? Is it really the new year that brings change to our lives or is it our responsibility? We have visions, goals, dreams …things we want to achieve and that is good but how can we actually achieve them? Will the new year just hand it over to us like that? I believe we must be intentional about how we want our lives to be like and act on it, this includes planning. The Bible says in Habbkuk 2:2 :

See that the Lord is talking to the Prophet about a vision and instructs him to write it down and make it plain in other words make it easy to understand. So I believe we can take a lesson from this, we must plan, write down our visions, goals, objectives and ask ourselves what can we do in order to achieve those things? We can divide those in groups for example, long term goals or short term goals and write down simple steps we must take in order to achieve our targets.

God has given us a powerful tool to help us navigate through life , one that God himself uses. Isn’t it amazing? And this tool is with us all the time! Yes, it’s in our body. I’m talking about our tongue. The Bible says that :

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21 . This verse is so simple so easy to understand and yet so powerful! We have to declare what we want to see in our lives… Isn’t that what God did in the book of Genesis? So if we are not happy with certain situations we can actually change them by speaking the right things into existence. We already know that God loves us so much and wants us to succeed and we shouldn’t let anyone tell us otherwise.

Jesus said in John 10:10 ” The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” From this verse it is clear that God wants us to have life but there’s an enemy who wants to bring death therefore we should use our tongues to bring God’s will to pass in our lives. In this new year let’s speak right, let’s use our tongues for good, let’s declare life in the name of Jesus.

As children of God we must do things the way our Father does, when God wanted a change He did not complain, He did not keep quiet, He did not cry, He SPOKE what he wanted into existence!!! Look what the Bible says in the first chapter of Genesis:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Genesis 1:1-3

So like our Father this year we will speak what we want to see! We won’t complain, we won’t cry about it.. we will use what God has given us and speak things into existence! If you are saying to yourself ahh… who am I to declare things? Let me tell you who you are: You are a King Priest! Yes, that’s what the Word of God says: “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:6

and in the mouth of a King there’s power!

So make up your mind to put God first in everything you do because He wants you to succeed and He will surely lead you from the beginning to the end.

I Hope this post has blessed you and I wish you a Blessed New Year… may the Will of God come to pass in your life.

When the helper needs help

♡♡♡May your whole life prove that God is good♡♡♡

I have always been someone who would encourage friends when they went through tough moments in their lives.

I feel fulfilled when I am able to help people. Some people would call me when they are in need of advice because they thought I had a wise answer to give them. In different occasions I saw friends and relatives grieving, losing a loved one is so difficult.

I’d try my best to comfort them and make sure they knew I was there for them and I cared! When I lost a loved one unexpectedly I broke down. I received the news few days before my exams and I felt so powerless. I did not want to do anything . I would just cry everyday but my friends were there comforting me… I realised that we all need help. ‘ Here I was… the helper needed help ‘. People told me to be strong but what does that mean ? Not crying? Smiling? And that is what I did in front of people! I pretended to be ok…after all I am ‘strong’… but deep down I was sad. Whenever I was alone I’d cry. I literally studied for my exams crying.

I would ask God “why is this happening to me now? How will I move on? How will I manage to study for my exams? ” and I couldn’t be mad at God because I had the assurance that He loved me and His Presence was so real. I was carried in everlasting arms and I knew God would never leave me nor forsake me.

The pain isn’t gone… sometimes I cry but I know God is with me and for me. The Holy Spirit comforts me…when people can’t understand you be sure that God does, he cares for you and he loves you.

“How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 36:7

God is taking me through this journey! It doesn’t matter what you are going through ..God loves us and He is our refuge.

God bless you
